Smart Scholars offers children an engaging environment for developmental services. Smart Scholars is dedicated to children of all ages who may be experiencing challenges with learning, behavior and communication. We provide ABA therapy for a variety of developmental delays, disabilities and conditions including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We utilize a comprehensive approach to develop a tailored treatment plan that truly address your child's individual needs. Our comprehensive curricula target skills in eight areas of human functioning such as language, play, cognition, executive function, motor, adaptive, academic and social. Through the process of ABA intervention, we reduce challenging behaviors, increase wanted behaviors and improve your child's functioning in targeted areas.

MOTOR

Visual, oral, and motor skills a child needs to communicate effectively, participate in play and daily living activities, and succeed academically

SOCIAL

Social interactions and relationship building, as well as social language skills and self-esteem

LANGUAGE

Ability to communicate effectively and understand others

ADAPTIVE

Ability to engage in daily living activities independently, from dressing and toileting to setting the table and shopping for groceries

PLAY

Various forms of play, including interactive, independent, pretend, and computer play

EXECUTIVE FUNCTION

Goal-oriented behavior and self-management, such as memory, attention, planning, self-awareness, flexibility, and problem solving

COGNITION

Perspective-taking skills or “Theory of Mind” (i.e., the ability to understand the mental states of oneself and others)

ACADEMIC

Language Arts and Math skills, so a child can independently participate in assignments at school

Social Skills Training

Smart Scholars provides social skills training to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities. The focus of the program is to increase the child’s overall ability to: Recognize and interpret verbal and non-verbal communication; Develop appropriate peer relationships; Assist individuals with improvement in social interactions by expanding their interest in age appropriate topics, toys and play skills.

Behavior Intervention Plans

Behavior Intervention Plans are developed from a Functional Behavior Assessment. Behavior Intervention Plans increase the acquisition and use of new alternative skills, decrease the problem behavior and facilitate general improvements in the quality of life of the individual, his or her family, and members of the support team.

Verbal Behavior Therapy

Verbal Behavior Therapy teaches communication and language using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and the theories of behaviorist B.F. Skinner. The intervention focuses on the understanding of why we use words to communicate and how we connect words with their purpose. This type of therapy focuses on four language types or operants: mand, tact, intraverbal and echoic.

Smart Scholars is seeking dynamic ABA Registered Behavior Technician looking for a comprehensive and rewarding experience. In this role, you will implement principles and procedures of Applied Behavioral Analysis to successfully meet goals/objectives on treatment plans and carry out Behavior Intervention Plans for children with developmental delays, in a variety of settings.


Qualified candidates will possess a Registered Behavior Technician Certification (RBT) and Florida Medicaid Number. Successful candidates will have excellent attention to detail regarding report submission, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, have the ability to collaborate with professionals in various disciplines and at different levels in order to best advocate for needs of children.

  • Experience working with children, especially those with autism using ABA methodologies is preferred
  • Candidates must be energetic, animated, and outgoing, with a passion for helping children achieve their true potential.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Must have an NPI/Medicaid provider number
  • English speaker/Bilingual preferred

Implementing individualized applied behavior treatment program under the direction of a BCBA/BCaBA, including direct 1:1 ABA therapy
  • Uses the basic principles of applied behavior analysis ABA such as: reinforcement, prompting, and shaping techniques.
  • Teaching ABA, social, and daily living skills.
  • Effectively responding to and minimizing difficult or disruptive behaviors.
  • Creating a fun, motivating experience to generate the highest level of performance for every individual.
  • Collecting data on ABA programming targets and utilizing an online system to enter, track, and view progress.

  • Design and oversee Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment programs for clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other special needs
  • Train staff, caregivers, and other professionals to implement ABA treatment plans
  • Conduct face-to-face supervision for our clients and RBT's
  • Conduct team meetings 
  • Assess our clients treatment needs and write detailed goals and objectives for each client treatment plan so that progress may be tracked and measured
  • Write initial assessments and re-assessment reports
  • Consult with caregivers and school personnel
